ORTH, William Earl Bill - 1936 - 2000 - With great courage, dignity and strength, Bill battled cancer. His battle ended on Friday June 12, 2009 at Woodstock General Hospital, while held in the arms of his family. Devoted to his family, Bill was the loving husband and best friend of Pamela Ann Orth (nee Robertson), amazing Dad to his six children and cool Grandpa to his seventeen grandchildren: Scott, Meghan, Noah and Kayla Orth (Vancouver); Duane, Tracy, Adam, Megan, Jamie, Andrew and Nicholas Orth (London); Allyson, Henry, William, Samuel and Jackson Otten (Delaware); Jennifer, Dan, Matthew and Jacob Vanbesien (Norwich); Marni, Louie, Gabriella and Lucy Santino (Mississauga); and Heather, Tom, Sara, Carly and Joey Bucholtz (Curries). Bill will be sadly missed by his brother Wally, Doreen and family, parents-in-law Jack and Lillie Robertson, sister-in-law Linda Robertson and family, and Islay Orth and family. Predeceased by his parents Russell and Blanche Orth, and his brother-in-law Brian Robertson. Dairy farmer, commercial pilot, star gazer, fisherman, story-teller, hunter, biker, musician, sports fan, world traveler, Crazy 8, nature enthusiast and conservationist; Bill was a man of many interests which he shared generously with his family and a wonderful, diverse group of friends. At Bill's request, we celebrated his extraordinary life at a memorial service held on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at St. Davids United Church, 190 Springbank Ave. N., Woodstock, Ontario. There was an opportunity for friends to visit with the family from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. before the service, and following the memorial in Kirk Hall at the church. Donations may be made to Woodstock Hospital Foundation or to St. David's United Church. Our family would like to thank Dr. C.
