WITMER - At the Woodstock General Hospital on Tuesday June 30, 2009. Leo John Malcolm Witmer of Woodstock in his 75th year. Beloved husband of Mary Louise (nee Abbott) Witmer for over 51 years. Dear father of Ronald John Witmer and his wife Judy and their children Jennifer, Kathryn and Christopher all of North Bay and Debra Witmer Allen and her husband Tom and their son Glen of Schomberg. Predeceased by his parents Wesley J. and Madeline B. (Nee Dearing) Witmer. Leo was a longtime member of Mercer Wilson Masonic Lodge # 678 A.F. and A.M., was a past employee of Bell Canada for over 38 years, was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, an active member of the community through various volunteer activities and was an avid curler, golfer and thoroughly enjoyed his woodworking. Friends may call at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Thursday July 2, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., where the complete funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday at 1:30 p.m. with Bruce Whitmore and Rev. Mark McLennan officiating. Cremation to follow. Contributions to the Woodstock General Hospital - Palliative Care Unit or the Masonic Foundation would be appreciated.
