FLETCHER: Edith Lucy It is with profound sadness and yet relief that the loving family of Edith Lucy Fletcher announce that on Sunday, August 9, 2009 Edith finally was freed from her suffering with ALS. Edith was the devoted wife of Jack Fletcher for 60 years and loving mother to Joy Villeneuve (Mike), Janice Koekebakker (Ron) and Jonathan Fletcher. “Nanny" will be missed by her grandchildren who were a constant source of pride and joy for her. Jeremy Koekebakker (Jennifer), Justin Koekebakker, Melanie Hebert (David), Koryn Dufour (Daniel). Each of them have inherited some of “Nanny’s” special talents which will be passed on to their children; Chloe and Kobe Koekebakker, Alexandre and Antony Hebert, Maddox and Cooper Dufour. Edith was the special sister to Elsie (Don) Foreman, Hilda McNally, Mary Gatto, Joy Bianchi, Grayce (Joe) Monnett and sister-in-law Sylvia Bianchi. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Emelia Bianchi, brother Walter, brothers-in-law Leno Gatto and Gordon McNally. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Edith was known for her generosity, love of gardening, cooking and entertaining. She has left an irreplaceable void in the lives of her family and friends but also gave us the strength and example of how to carry on. She taught us Family always comes first. Edith spent many years nursing at Victoria Hospital in London and earned the love of many patients and co-workers before her retirement. Edith wished no memorial service but donations can be made to the Woodstock Horticultural Society or Woodstock General Hospital Building Foundation through the McBeath-Dynes Funeral Home 519-425-1600. www.gffh.ca
