RICHARDSON - At his residence on Saturday August 1, 2009. William "Bill" D. Richardson of Woodstock in his 86th year. Beloved husband of Margaret Ann (nee McKay) Richardson. Dear father of Terry Richardson of Mississauga, Helen Horvath (Andy) of London, Sharon Laird (Gary) of Princeton, Cliff Hie (Kathy) of Woodstock, Donna Findlayson (late William) of London and Linda Stansbury of Brantford. Loved grandfather of many grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Dear brother of Dorothy Baker (Stan) of Uxbridge and brother-in-law of Eva Herbert of Brantford, Ethel McKay of Paris and William McKay (Pearl) of St. John’s, NB. Predeceased by his brother-in-law Ian McKay. Bill was married to Margaret Ann on November 25, 1966. During his life, Bill was a fireman with the Paris Fire department. He was the head custodian at Brantford Collegiate Institute where he also saved the school from burning to the ground. He owned an ice, wood, fuel and coal business. Bill always worked in management with every job he held. For three months, Bill went through for Doctoring. He served in WWII with the RCAF, where he pulled a man from his burning plane and also had his medals stolen. After his retirement, Bill worked in a parking garage. Friends may call at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Saturday August 8, 2009 from 3-5 pm for a memorial visitation. Cremation has taken place.
