BRUCH - Jessie Isabel (Goring) Bruch passed peacefully at St. Paul Lutheran Home in Melville, Sk November 29, 2009 at the age of 87 years. Jessie was born on March 10, 1922 in Woodstock, Oxford County, Ontario to Ernest and Lillian (Baker) Goring. She grew up in Muir, and worked in southern Ontario as a nursemaid and farmerette before enlisting in the Air Force and stationed in Lethbridge, Alberta where she met her future husband Charles Bruch. They had their only child Theresa in Lethbridge, before moving to Killaly, Saskatchewan, and later to Burgessville, Ontario where they lived for nearly 40 years. During that time she worked as a mail carrier, as well as doing seasonal work in the apple orchards and tobacco fields. Jessie and Chuck returned to Saskatchewan, spending their retirement in Fenwood, to share more time with their daughter Terry and her family. Jessie led a very active life, always willing to help organize events and help out her many friends. Her generosity knew no bounds, and she was willing to strike up a conversation with anyone. Her cheerful presence would bring a smile to anyone she met. Her move to the Legion Manor formed many more friendships in her life, and she also took this opportunity to travel the world. Jessie was predeceased by her mother Lillian (1935) and father Ernest (1960), step-mother Constance, her husband Chuck (1992) and great-grandson Nicholaus (2002). She leaves behind to fondly remember her daughter Theresa (Nick) Rogalski, Melville; grandchildren, Julia (Mike) Burak, Jacob, Jaclyn, Melville; Michael (Michelle) Rogalski, Simon, Selena, Saskatoon; Byron (Dian) Rogalski, Settena, Saskatoon; Alexander (Katherine Skelton) Rogalski, Toronto; step-sister, Marg Dragman; sisters-in-law, Alice Baumgartner, Lorraine Bruch, and Marlene Jones, as well as many nieces and nephews. Jessie will always be remembered for her warm smile, gentle laugh and twinkle in her eye that led her through an adventurous life. The funeral service was held December 3, 2009 at Matthews Funeral Home, Melville with the Rev. Phil Schwindt, Chaplain at St. Paul Lutheran Home officiating. Grandson, Alexander Rogalski shared memories of his grandma. The organist, Gaylene Matthews, led in the hymns, "Nearer, My God to Thee", "The Old Rugged Cross", "Just As I Am" and "Onward Christian Soldiers". Members of the Royal Canadian Legion, Robert G. Combe V.C. Branch #61 performed the Legion tribute and formed an honour guard. Arrangements were entrusted to Matthews Funeral Home, Melville.
