FLOOD, Leslie - 95, of Stratford and formerly of Woodstock passed away at Spruce Lodge in Stratford on Monday, December 14, 2009. He was born in Usborne Township, Huron County on December 31, 1913, a son of the late William and Fannie (Perry) Flood. He was a mechanical engineer and had worked at the CNR Shops in Stratford and at the Oxford Regional Centre in Woodstock. Leslie is survived by his wife of 72 years, the former Dorothy Victoria McArdle, whom he married at Milverton on June 10, 1937; one daughter, Carolyn and her husband Tom Birtch of RR#6, Woodstock; his son-in-law, Ed Gonyaw of Sarasota, Florida; eleven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Vera Flood, Gordon McArdle, Robert and Joyce McArdle, Laverne McArdle, Joe and Leona Matika, Marlin and Shirley Thompson, Gary and Ida Jean Paquette along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Alice Fay Gonyaw on September 12, 2001; his son-in-law, Kenneth Taylor; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronald and Betty Flood, Stanley and Rhea “Sally” Flood, Robert Flood, Audrey McArdle and Eva McArdle. There will be no funeral home visitation. A private family graveside service will be held at Oxford Memorial Park Cemetery, Woodstock. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated and may be made through the FRANCIS FUNERAL HOME, 77 Woodstock St. North, Tavistock by calling 1-519-655-2431
