Description
"INDIAN patented" backpack fire pump produced by "D. B. Smith & Company. Utica, N.Y., U.S.A." (text on cap). Brass pump with 5 gallon pump, rubber tube, brass strainer and cover, designed to be worn on back with adjustable canvas straps. Back is stamped "air cooled patented tank".

Notes
Indian Fire Pump was designed and manufactured by D.B. Smith Company of Utica and is still used today.
