Description
Black and white panoramic photograph of the Niagara Fire Brigade members in full dress ceremonial uniforms: white pants, white dress shirts, white peaked hats and dark jackets with initials NFD (Niagara Fire Department). There are two rows of firemen, standing and kneeling, with a chief holding a banner with emblem and anniversary dates: "Niagara Fire Brigade 1826-1926".
The picture's frame is made of weathered wood painted gold.
Eddy Smith, Bill Gallop, Doug Read, Ernie Grimstead, Headly Read, Jack Redhead, Jim Connelly are some of the firefighters on this picture.
Notes
"In 1826, the Niagara Volunteer Fire Department became the first fire department in the history of Upper Canada to be incorporated by an Act of Parliament, thereby guaranteeing that all buildings would be protected by the fire department."
