Description
Handheld, copper/brass, soda-acid fire extinguisher manufactured by La France Fire Engine & Foamite Ltd. The brass plates with directions for charging the soda-acid and that it is tested for 350 lbs. are attached to the cooper cylinder (they are in both English and French).
Measurements for tank without rubber hose; tank diameter: 20 cm.

Notes
LaFrance Engine and Foamite Limited was a Canadian fire apparatus manufacturer located in Toronto and Cooksville, Ontario. Seeking a share of the Canadian market, the American LaFrance Company of Elmira, New York, set up a plant in Toronto under the name American LaFrance Fire Engine Company of Canada Limited. The company expanded rapidly and was renamed LaFrance Fire Engine and Foamite Corporation in 1928 and sold apparatus under this name until 1971.
