- "Shur-Spray Automatic Chemical Sprinkler" glass fire extinguisher manufactured by International Fire Equipment Corporation. The glass container used to be filled with carbon tetrachloride (CTC) and had a metal trigger at the end. It has a chain for hanging as it was usually hung from the ceiling in factories and homes were hung from the ceiling joists in factories and homes without adequate fire protection and it worked like a sprinkler system.

- Carbon-tetrachloride extinguishers were withdrawn in the 1950s because of the chemical's toxicity.

Directions for refilling
Place a funnel in the air tube and pour one gallon of SHUR-SPRAY chemical only.
Back of set screw in fuse arm and draw the arms together. Place cap in position over the end of tube, making sure that the composition washer is in place and slip fuse link over the ends of the fuse arms. Then tighten the set screw.
Keep spray head clean.
