Report of NINTH ANNUAL CONFERENCE - EIGHTEENTH DISTRICT QUOTA CLUB INTERNATIONAL, INC HAMILTON, ONTARIO - OCTOBER 15, 16 & 17, The Ninth Annual Conference of the Eighteenth District, Quota Club International, Incorporated, was held in the Wentworth Arms Hotel, Hamilton, with the Quota Club of Hamilton as Hostess Club. Governor Marion N. Penhale, of Toronto, presided throughout the Conference, with the exception of the Saturday Luncheon honouring the Membership Chairman, when the lieutenant-Governor, Mabel A. Perry, of Montreal, presided. The Business Session of the Ninth Annual Conference was called to order at 9.30 a.m. on October 16th, with Governor Penhale presiding. The Session opened with the presentation of the Flags and the singing of the National Anthems. His Worship, Mayor Lloyd Jackson, welcomed the Conference to Hamilton, commended the delegates and members for their fortitude and courage in attending, even in face of Hurricane Hazel, and paid tribute to Quota's contribution to community and civic affairs, urging that we give special help to New Canadians. The Quotarian welcome was extended by Helene Mackenzie, President of the Quota Club of Hamilton. The response was voiced by Iva Brown, President of the Quota Club of Montreal. The Invocation was given by Lieutenant-Governor, Mabel A. Perry, of Montreal. A Memorial Service for the late Prudence McCrory, Hamilton, and Lillian Vernaleken, London, was conducted by Past-Governor Pearl E. Fenton, of Ottawa. Quotarian Juanita Simington, of Hamilton, sang the Twenty-Third Psalm.
