The Pond in the Marshy Meadow is one of my all time favorite books, for children or adults. It shares wonderful knowledge of all the creatures that live in and around a pond through the flamboyant poetry of the snapping turtle who rules there. It also touches on the positive health effects on children of time spent outdoors.
But the best part of her writing is it doesn't "dumb down" any of the fact of nature while somehow still showing the beauty and joy of nature. The illustrations are beautiful as well.
I was surprised at how little information I could find on this author when I entered her name on the internet. This site had the most I could find. I feel she deserves at least a Wikipedia page.
