- Luella Wallace Lowrey was born in Queenston on Dec 10, 1894 to Matthew Charles Lowrey and Helen Emily Wallace. In 1926 she married Thomas Henry Clifford and they had two children: Helen and Thomas Alan Clifford. She passed away on 15 Apr 1973 in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada.

Alma College was a private school for girls in St. Thomas, Ontario in Canada, established by the Methodist Church in 1877. Alma College officially opened as a liberal arts school for young women in 1881 and became recognized for the training it provided in music, drama, and the arts. The ownership and operational management of Alma College was transferred from the Methodist Church of Canada as a result of the formation of the United Church of Canada in 1925. The college closed in 1988 and the building was destroyed by a fire in 2008. - Inscriptions
