CHARLES R. KILKENNY

One of the oldest residents of Queenston Village, Charles Robert Kilkenny, retired teacher and merchant, died yesterday morning at his home, following a lengthy illness. He would have celebrated his 89th birthday tomorrow.

Born at Bradford, Ont., on May 15th, 1862, Mr. Kilkenny received his teacher's certificate from the old Toronto Normal School in 1880. Eleven years later he settled in Queenston and taught school there until 1917. Following retirement from the teaching profession, he operated a general store in the village, until five years ago. Mr. Kilkenny was a member of the Bradford Masonic Lodge and an adherent of Queenston United Church.

He is survived by his wife, Caroline Margaret Dressel Kilkenny, and one son, Frederick C. Kilkenny of Niagara Falls, N.Y., and three j grandchildren, John F. and Karen1 P. Kilkenny, Niagara Falls, N.Y., and Robert D. Kilkenny, this city.

Mr. Kilkenny is resting at the Morse and Son Chapel, where funeral service will he held on Tuesday afternoon, May 15, at two o'clock. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.
