The Luther Burbank Society
CHARTERED BY THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA
NOT FOR PROFIT
SANTA ROSA, CALIFORNIA,
October Fifteen
Nineteen Thirteen
Wm. Armstrong, Esq.
Niagara-on-the-Lake, Can.
My dear Mr. Armstrong:
It gives me great pleasure to inform you that you have been elected an Honorary Member of the The Luther Burbank Society.
As you are aware, there are no dues, fees or payments connected with this Membership, but it is hoped that when occasion arises you will see fit to give The Society's educational work such moral aid and support as you consider consistent, convenient, and of service to the agricultural interest of your territory.
The first series of proof sheets of Mr. Burbank's manuscript has gone forward to you by separate mail today. The writer hopes that you will find time to look over these sheets and help us with your own comments, suggestions and ideas. Eight blank pages are provided in the back of the proof book for your notes, and it will be much appreciated if you can send them in at an early date.
With the proof book I also mailed you a color-illustrated Synopsis of the complete exposition of Mr. Burbank's methods in twelve volumes. While this has been prepared for the Life Members of the Society, it is the only material avail-able containing information upon the contents and range of Mr. Burbank's records when published. It may also give you a clearer idea of the scope of The Society's work.
The writer begs to express the hope that you will find it convenient to visit us, and that we may have the pleasure of showing you over Mr. Burbank's grounds and of explaining to you in person the experiments then under way.
