MRS. ELIZA DURHAM.

The remains of Mrs. Eliza Durham, who passed away in her ninetieth year on Saturday at the residence of her grandson, Alan Coatsworth, 24 Duplex Avenue, Toronto, were interred yesterday morning in the family burial plot in Woodlawn Cemetery, St. Catharines, the city of her birth. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard Collier of St. Catharines, who were lifelong members and amongst the founders of St. Paul Street Methodist Church, and lived all her single life in the beautiful old home on the hill overlooking the first Welland Canal, now used as a consumptive hospital.

She was married to John Durham of Queenston, grandson of the late James Durham, U.E.L., who had the first peach orchard in the Niagara Peninsula. Mr. Durham was a graduate of old Upper Canada College, Toronto, and taught school before entering the dry goods business in St. Catharines. He predeceased his wife many years ago. Two sons, John H. C. Durham of Palm Beach, Florida, who was for 25 years general manager of the Merchants Fire Insurance Company, and Dr. James R. Durham of Warren, Pa.; five grandchildren and one great-grandson survive. Miss Manote Coatsworth who served as nurse in France during 1917-18 and who was laid to rest in the Necropolis Cemetery, Toronto, on Saturday afternoon was a grand-daughter.
