- "After gaining All American status in lacrosse at the Ithaca College, Ted continued to excel for such notable teams as Toronto Northstars, Brantford Warriors, Owen Sound Northstars and Mann Cup Champions, Brampton Excelsiors. His superlative Sr. A and B career was interrupted by a year of professional football in 1974 with the C.F.L.'s Hamilton Tiger Cats and another of professional lacrosse in 1975 with the Long Island Tomahawks of the National Lacrosse League where he won the Best Defensive Player Award. After moving to British Columbia, Ted continued to coach and play for many years, but perhaps his most notable accomplishments were recognized off the athletic field where he received numerous citations for valor while firefighting including the Star of Courage from Canada."
