Inscriptions
"Born in Paraguay in 1955 and moving here the following year, Willi honed all of his immeasurable hockey and lacrosse skills in the Niagara area. After innumerable accomplishments in Junior hockey, he was drafted by the Atlanta Flames in 1975 and became NHL's 'Rookie of the Year' winning the Calder Trophy in 1977. For eleven years, Willi crafted a fearsome reputation as a skilled, physical force in the league, eventually toiling for four teams also including Calgary, Minnesota and Boston. Now a jolly and contented grandfather, as a true son of Niagara-on-the-Lake sports, Willi remains the paragon of hockey success for our community."
