- A transcription of the 1842 census for Dorchester Township in Elgin County listing the head of household and number of family members. In 1842 the township had not yet been divided into North and South Dorchester Township, therefore a portion of the inhabitants were actually living in what was later North Dorchester Township Middlesex County. The document includes a brief history of the township.
