- Description
- Elgin County was originally part of the Western District of Upper Canada. Many of the early settlers were United Empire Loyalists. The book is divided into the historic townships with descriptions of each and a map to show the location of various places, some of which were not true villages but often only a post office, church, school or farm usually at a crossroads.
