- The first issue of the Berlin Telegraph and Waterloo County General Intelligencer was in 1853 the same year the Waterloo County came into being. The proprietor was Peter Eby who also published Der Deutsche Canadier. Birth, marriage and death notices were usually found on the 3rd page.
