- World War II was the first time Canadian women served in uniform; The Canadian Army Women's Corp (CWAC), Women's Division of the Royal Canadian Air Force (WREN) and the Women's Royal Canadian Naval Service (WD. Two large training centres were located in Kitchener, Waterloo County and in Galt, Wellington County. This book is the untold story of the training centres and includes a chapter on a platoon of Polish women who trained at the Kitchener base in 1944. Contains photos, a glossary, anecdotes and an extensive listing of women interviewed for the book.
