Young to work up the case and effect the arrest of the alleged deâ€" faultcr and forger, and he at once institated inquirers, Learning by an «xamination of the list of passengers on the Cuy of Paris, that Wilkins had wcrived in New York, the detective had no difficulty in tracing him to a quict boardingâ€"house in Brooklyn, and on proccedâ€" ing thither experienced no diféculty in seâ€" curing his prisoner. _ On being arrested, Wilkins confessed to bhaving committed the forgcries with which he was charged, and swon after he was handed over to Dutective Whiteâ€" house, of the London force, who had arrived in purguit of the prisoncr, The transfer was made in accordance with the provisions of the Extradigion Trouty Wilkins made no opposition to being sent back to England for trial, and he was placed on board the stcamship Australasian by the London detectives, und he is now on bis way to Great Britain to await his trial for forgery and defalcution, the stamer having suiled \ yesterday afternoon from her dock in Jersey City MEWEL As soon as he was comfortably domiciled in Brooklyun, Wilkins wrote to his wife and family, requesting them to come on and join him, and it is supposed that , before be arrives at Liverpool, his wife and five children will have set sail for this country. Wilkins evidently bad no suspicion that he hud been so succusstully traced, and that he was on the eve of being arrested. Dotective Farley deâ€" gerves credit for the successful mauser in which he worked up the caseâ€"X.
