The inquest on the remain of Mrs. Evans, was resumed yesterday afternoon in the City Hall. As usual, about an bour‘s delay took place in getting thejury together and in prattling over nonsensical explanations, all the result of the coroâ€" ner‘s loquaci‘y which is interminable ad intolerable. _A motion for adj urnâ€" ment was made, after which the coroner moved th«â€"t the jury proceed to the Hospiâ€" tal to take the evidence of Â¥iss Cardinal, who jumped from the window the mornâ€" ing of the fire." The jury then rendered a verdict that the ~deceased came to his death from sheer exhaustion, caused by vomitting and dysentery." ‘ HMenry Lorocque sworn said, 1 got an order signed by Dr. McDougall and Messrs. James Peacock and Wm. Workâ€" man, authorizing the admission of the deceased McMutin to the Protestant Hospital, but on being taken up there those in care refused to take him in ; reâ€" turning, he died in the cab at the Hotel jast.
