Charles P. Bliss, A. M., Private Secretary to the Hon. the Minister of Customs, and Assistant Curate of the parish of st. Albans. The painful event took place at his residence, Resserer street, yesterday noming. Mr. Bliss was never constitutionally a strong man, and he had been ailing for some weeks, but we believe that no one suspected that his end was so near at hand. The deceased gentleman had been a resident of Ottawa since 1867 â€"in which year he came here with Hon, Mr. Tilley in the capacity above named. He was a member of one of the oldest and most honorable families of New Brunswick, his father having held the office of Receiver General, and his grand= father a juadgeship in that Province. Mr. Bliss was a graduate of the University of New Brunswick, and early studied for, and was admitted to the Anglican Church, and for some years had charge of the Parish of Sussex Vale, in his native Province. Fail ing health compelied him to relinquish his clerical duties; but lately, in the absence in England of Rev. Dr. Jones, he has taken over the work of St. Albans in this cityâ€"a work which ali have feared, and the sad event which we announce fully justified the fearâ€"was too much for his weak and enfeebled constuitution. Mr. Bliss held high rank in the Masonic fra» ternity, and we understand that in comâ€" pliance with his dying wish, his remains will be interred with Masonic honors on Sunday afternoon at half past two. It is with regret that wo announce this morning the death of one of our most esteemed fellowâ€"citizens Charles Aumond, 1t us .
