As a result of that meeting, a committee headed by Mrs. Chapple, Mrs. Kloosterman, and Mrs. Fancy was formed. With the help of a few other volunteers the ladies organized a dance which was held at the Sandy Bay Inn on April 11. We are pleased to report the dance was highly suc- cessful, with more than 200 parents, teachers and friends attending. An en- joyable evening was had by all, and over $500 was raised for the Camp Kitchi Fund. A few days before the dance, the campaign was kicked off with a genuine auction held at the school. The pupils in grade 4 brought in miscellaneous items from home which were displayed on tables in the upper hall. The auction started at 9:30 a.m. sharp, and by 10:30 a.m. all items were sold and the kids were richer by approximately $100. Mr. Carpenter, the librarian-resource teacher, was the auctioneer. Decked out with top hat and cane he kept things moving at a fast clip.
