Lorraine Orr The old Honey Harbor Boat Works has been in the Milner family for generations but the present members of the family indicated that they would be closing down this year. Rather than allow the marina to fall into hands » which might destroy it as a boating facility, a group of cottagers in the Honey Harbor vicinity have formed an association and taken it over. The closing of the boat works or its development as a non-marine facility such as a cottage sub- division, would have been diastrous for the Georgian Bay boating communit: A 1974 graduate Honey Harbor is one of the best jumping off points for the entire Thirty Thousand Islands area of Georgian Bay, the most fabulous fresh water cruising grounds in the world. The new boat club is a non-profit organization and will operate in the interests of all area cottagers. The club will also provide full services to transient boaters. About 40 memberships in the organization are still available for cot- tagers in the Honey Harbor, Cognashene and Go Home Bay Com- munities.
