Volunteers canvassed industry, households, and businesses during the last two weeks of May in order to raise money for a new facility for the Adult Rehabilitation Centre (ARC) in Midland. The Ministry of Community and Social Services has agreed to chip in 80 per cent of the total cost of the complex, but the remainder had to be found in the com- munity at large Volunteers are being asked to submit their pledge sheet and donations to the cam- paign committee by June 22. Band concert plans finalized All the plans have finally been made for the Band Concert at Little Lake Park Saturday June 19, commencing at 1:30 p.m The bus through tne courtesy of the Penetang- Midland Coach Lines will commence running at 12:30 .p.m. and_ will continue throughout the afternoon going to and from the Park so that our area residents can take part in all or just a segment of the Concert The bus will tfavel through Midland and Penetanguishene on the following route with the following designated pick up spots 12:30 Penetanguishene; 1. Senior Citizens Apartment behind Arena; 2. Georgian Manor; 3 Burkevale School; 4 Museum on Burke Street; 5 Post Office; 6 Stewart's Gulf Service Station (corner Poyntz and 27 Hwy); 7. The Pipers of the Royal Canadian Legion lead off the Concert at 1:30 p.m followed by the Baton Class of Mrs. Judy Bales At 2:30 p.m. the Gospel Pop Group under the leadership of Mr. Ken Keefer perform and at 3:00 p.m. the Mid Knighters, our famous Midland Barber Shop singers, under the direction of Mr. Glen Campbell will entertain. At 3:45 p.m. the Penetanguishene Seco- ndary School band will play followed by the singing and instrumental aan from Wyevale - the 'aston Family There will be goodies to eat, crafts to buy, a Bake Table and of course a last chance to purchase a lucky draw ticket on the Hand Hooked Rug. The draw will be made at approximately 4:30 p.m. and the lucky winner will be notified by phone. This event is being sponsored by the Simcoe County Recreation Association for the Institutionalized Senior Citizens and we need your help and support. The - proceeds will be used to carry on a creative ac- tivity program during the summer months for the shut ins of this area. c
