Midland dumped In Huronia lacrosse action last week, Midland dumped Orillia by a score of 5-0. Kirk Swales of Midland scored three goals while teammates Chris Wright and Dave Ironside each added singles. Midland novice team was edged out 6-5 by Oro. Ralph Seeman was the top scorer for Midland and John Bald scored two goals. Colin Milligan and Chris Chenier each had one assist. In Huronia_ minor lacrosse action last week, peewees were beaten 7-4 by the Alliston peewees. Midland started off in a blaze of fireworks with three unanswered markers in less than five minutes. However, determined running and effective checking allowed the Alliston team to creep up and outshoot the Midland players. The Y's Mens great car draw has been another resounding success. The organizers have worked very hard on the project and are to be congratulated. Saturday another interesting happening and even though it rained most of the day the program for the Senior Citizens Day took place. The Villa Nursing Home held its official opening in conjunction with the Senior Citizens Day. While rain continued to fall the biggest part of the day Mr. and Mrs. Jarlette opened their new facilities to Mrs. Gibsen and her volunteer workers, we extend our grateful thanks to the Jarlettes and staff of the Villa Nursing Home for taking the planned events indoors.
