Although many Midland swimmers recorded personal records, the team finished fifth out of eight entries in an invitational swim meet. Overall winner was the Midland's Keefe on VON board Mrs. Nancy Keefe of Midland was elected to the Ontario Victoria Order of Nurses' Board of Directors at the VON's annual meeting held April 12 in Toronto. i Mrs. Keefe, a Midland councillor, will represent Simcoe County on the VON's board. Victorian Order nurses, during 1976, made 885,809 visits to 54,778 patients. Of all visits made by the 33 branches, 79 per cent was paid by government sources including municipalities under the Homemakers and Nurses Services Act, the Home Care Programs. and W.C.B. Wendy Cameron finished second in. the girls' 13-14 100 metre backstroke race. followed in fourth by Patti Cox and Tracey Hutton who finished sixth. Cox also picked up a second, third and fifth, and Hutton three fourth place finishes. Kevin Cowden earned a second, third and two fourths in the boys' 13-14 year old age group. Kevin Loughran, also in the 13- 14 division, finished with three fifth place finishes. Chris Kay led the senior boys' with a first, third and fifth. Chris Vogt earned a third and a fourth. Midland swimmers showed their strength in the relay races, finishing first in three events, second in five, coming in third in one race, finishing fourth in three others, fifth in two and sixth in one race.
