Nearly new sale coming up The First Presbyterian Church, Robert St., is sponsoring a Nearly New Sale on Saturday, April 30 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. A preview sale will be held Friday, April 29 at 8 p.m. for anyone interested in seeing and or buying while the selection is at its best. Admission charge for the sale is 25 cents. The ideas of a Nearly New Sale is a new one to the Penetanguishene community and organizers feel it will provide a real service to local citizens, par- ticularly in times of \in- flation. Sports' equip- ment, as bicycles, skates skis, games, _ books, household articles, and childrens' and adults' clothing will be sold. Articles for sale are accepted on a con- signment basis and must be priced by the seller. If sold, the seller receives 80 per cent of the money and 20 per cent is kept by the organizers. Anyone with nearly new articles for sale and wishing more information is asked to contact Mrs. Farthing at 549-8563 or Mrs. Gerow at 549-8553. * Special lecturer Fred Prescod of the Royal Botanical Gardens discussed plants' with Margaret Dupuis, Penetanguishene librarian, at a special lecture given by Prescod at the library on April 6. Prescod, a graduate in horticulture from McGill University, stressed that no one can know everything about all plants, and that each plant calls for individual care. At the library Plant care topic of 'green thumb' lecture Plants, their cultivation and care, was the topic of a "green thumb"' lecture at the Penetanguishene Public Library on April 6th. The lecture, by Fred Prescod of the Royal Botanical Gardens, at- tracted a standing-room- only audience of library users and _ horticultural society members. for Two days only!
