Within ten minutes, this mixture was blended and loaded for delivery, showing the efficiency of the new equipment. Simcoe Cooperative manager from Barrie, Lorne Power operated the machinery, assisted by district supervisor McConney for the demonstration. The first actual customer at the warehouse arrived a day earlier than the opening. Collin Elliott from Rockeynol Farms, Phelpston purchased one ton of bagged fertilizer on Tuesday. In his address, Rix stated the Simcoe District Cooperative feel such a warehouse in the Elmvale area, will better serve the farmers in Simcoe North. He also pointed out there were no other similar bulk fertilizer warehouses in the area, with the same blending availabilities. Rix introduced the reeve of Flos township, Alex Finlay, who brought greetings from Flos council. Finlay stated the new plant was a service to the community, and an asset to the area. Allan Scott, the agriculture represent- ative for North Simcoe, reinterated an earlier release, announcing he would be leaving the north Simcoe agriculture office on May 28, to take up a new appointment as agriculture represent- ative in Perth County.
