Midland Y.M.C.A. Stardust program was held last Wednesday and was a great success. Approximately 250 parents and other in- terested persons came to Midland OPP report When Frederick John Desroches returned to the parking lot after a brief shopping excursion inside Zeller's on Saturday afternoon, his automobile was nowhere to be seen. Metropolitan Toronto Police recovered the 1975 Buick LeSabre the following day in Toronto. Police say that Desroches left the keys in the ignition but the doors to the car were locked when he left it in the parking lot for about 30 minutes. Desroches said he thinks he may have left the car door open a quarter of an inch, which could have facilitated the break into the vehicle. Toronto Police Department was quick in nabbing the driver and passenger of the vehicle at 4:17 a.m. Taken into custody were Norman C. Pender, 17, of Weston and Terry Vandaigle, 21, of Weston. Both were charged with possession of stolen property and were ad- ditionally charged with theft under $200--a brown leather purse had been left in the front seat of the car. Water damage It might be a long. time before Tim use his watch our young gym- nasts, baton group and others perform in our annual gym show. Highlights of the program included: gymnastics, baton, kinder-gvm, Bobby Dean at the piano, kick boxing and much more. A number of awards were presented to both Y Leaders and Leaders in Training for their fine leadership throughout the year. Our congratulations go out to Perry Grasic and Sue Dawe winners of the award for 1977. Special thanks to Chester Graham for undertaking the task of Master of Ceremonies for the evening. Other thanks goes to Diane Smith and Brent Gordon who put a lot of time into coordination and organizing the show. Thank you. The Midland Y.M.C.A. will be running a Ladies Recreation Softball League this summer. Registrations are now being accepted for any of those 16 and over in- terested in a fun evening out. First game to start on Friday, June 10th at 6:30 p.m. father's 1976 Oosterlaken gets to Dodge pick-up again. Tim, of R.R. 3, Elmvale, took the vehicle to visit a friend on Concession 4 in Tiny Township on Sunday afternoon; he parked the pick-up but apparently failed to place it in gear or use a parking brake. While visiting his friend, the car slowly crept forward and then rushed into the Wye River. Estimated damage: $700. * Rabid Fox The Ontario Provincial Police advise residents in the area to beware of a rabid fox apparently on the loose in the vicinity of Perkinsfield. The Midland Detachment of the OPP were informed of the fox shortly before noon on Monday. Officials say a man telephoned from Perkinsfield to say that he had witnessed the rabid fox attack--get this--a highway grader. ~ The Huronia Animal Control has been advised to be on the lookout for the rabid animal and OPP advise that local residents be cautious. If anyone feels he has spotted the fox, please give the OPP a call.
