i: The Fun Fair at Victoria Harbour Public School not only raised money, it was enjoyed by hundreds of students. The comic book section of the white elephant sale held a special interest to Billy Summers 7 (left), Ted Pilgrim 11, and Ron Summers 10. Staff photo Victoria Harbour Fun Fair There are several ways that school children can raise money but perhaps one of the most enjoyable ways is the Fun Fair like the one held by Victoria Harbour Public School on Saturday. "Tn our fund raising we want to give the students something for their money," explained Len Cleland, a grade eight teacher. The Fun Fair ran from 11 in the morning until 3 in the afternoon and it would take about that long to visit all the events. It's estimated a couple hundred students par- ticipated in the fair and - there was lots for them to do. The events included a hockey shoot, a basket- ball throw, a fish pond, a horror house, a - dart throw at balloons plus a tournament and a bowling game. In addition there was a_ white elephant sale, a miniature golf game, a bake sale, a refreshment stand and a craft lottery. The students ran the events: and things went pretty smoothly because the shcool held a fun fair in the fall so much of the organization had already been thought out. The success of the last fun fair was spent on several new microscopes for the school and a remedial reading center...
