High winds and relentless torrents of rain which turned the field into a mud slide made ball handling extremely difficult, especially for the many inexperienced players who says If there was any doubt, rugger is a pretty rough game. No business was carried on since a trip to the Georgian Bay Hun- ters and Anglers pond was the highlight of the evening. Top fishing awards went to Janice Lott and Orten Crawford. Each caught the biggest speckled trout in his respective fields. Hot dogs and hamburgers were the main course and from the amount that was eaten they must have been good. After the meal it was down to the pond and time for some fishing. All hooks were barbless to keep the chances of anyone being hurt to a minimum. Never at any one time have so many night crawlers spent so much time in the air. Most of the children were giving the worms more air miles than time spent in the water. A few of the fathers gave a helping hand to some of the younger members present. Since it is not permissible for the members to fish the pond it seemed a good excuse for the dads to wet a line without any repercussions. From the pond it was back to the clubhouse for the draw. Excitement mounted as one by one the winners came to the front of the hall to receive their prizes. One might say the draw was fixed since all children won a prize. The 50/50 draw was also held during this meeting. Two year old Kerry Ann Crawford drew the winning ticket belonging to Brian Shaw runs. Peter Dubeau added a triple for the Brule team. The Garrisons had seven hits and three errors, while Hotel Brule got five hits, and com- mitted three errors. Louis Belcourt was credited with the win for the Garrisons, while Tim Sylvester took the loss. He pitched five innings for Hotel"Brule, and Bob Lapham was on the mound for two innings. of Midland. The cash prize totalled $502. A collection was taken up to show the members appreciation to the members wives who helped in the kitchen. A total of $40.11 was collected. Theresa Bourgeois, Mary Crawford, Pat Weisflog and Mae Newburn donated the money back to the Conservation Committee of the Georgian Bay Hunters and Anglers. On this special occasion all pop was donated by Coca Cola in Penetang.
