Call Contact 526-9333 Hours 9 a.m. to5 p.m. Monday toFriday (Except Holidays) Sports-a-rama is over for 1977 and again we are most happy to report to you, that the entire show was most successful. Contact would like to publicly thank the many people who supported this gigantic undertaking and helped to make the show such a success. The ex- citement and enthusiasm of the exhibitors set the spirit for the show. The entertainers gave their best per- formances and the members of the different service clubs that gave their time in hours of help, all brought Sports-a-rama together and a great time was had by all. Our sincere thanks to the Midland Times, the Free Press, C.K.M.P. and Cable T.V. for their great work and publicity. Also I would like to give a special thanks to the A and W and MacDonalds who gave a free hand out to all the people who passed through our admission doors. The Board of Directors of Contact all should be congratulated for their splendid efforts in putting the whole Sports-a-rama together. The lucky door prize numbers were drawn at the end of the show. The numbers are 331, 346, 545, 703 and 013. If you have one of these numbers please call the Contact office at 526-9333 and come in with your ticket stub and you can collect your prize. Congratulations to the lucky winners and our sincere thanks to each of the donors, the Windrifter Restaurant, the Bavarian House, the Friars Table, Zellers and Meatland. Next Friday coming up will be November 11th, Remembrance Day. During this week many of the members of the Royal Canadian Legion will be selling poppies. Do support the Legions and buy a poppy. The work that the Royal Canadian Legion does is vast and encompasses many facets in the lives and homes of our veterans and their families. On November 11. there will be Cenotaph services in Midland and Penetanguishene. Do try and attend one of these services, and observe a few minutes of silence and in'so doing reflect back and say a few words of thanks to the many who gave their lives so freely, so that we may live today in peace and harmony with our fellowman. When I was a child there was no school holiday on November 11, but in its place each school had its own Cenotaph service and we remembered. Today it means little to our children except another day out of school. They run and shout and play as the bugler plays the last post, not knowing or even caring about what is going on around them. Parents and teachers, do take the time to tell your children what November 11 is all about. Then they too can show their respect to our gallant veterans of the first and second wars. Contact has received several calls lately about household repairs. If you are considering home im- provements, be wary of door-to-door salesmen or contractors who "just happen to be in the neigh- bourhood". Check into these companies and never pay the full amount in advance. If you are required to make a partial payment in advance, pay by cheque and make it out to the company, not to the individual salesman. Never pay cash. Be sure to get a receipt specifying in detail, the work to be done, the total cost, the com- pletion date and the deposit you have already paid. The next Service Club Luncheon will be held on Tuesday, November 15th at the Windrifter Restaurant. The guest speaker will be Mr. Joe McReynolds, District Director Ministry of Community and Social Services. Mr. McReynolds will be speaking on the new sub ministry, Children's Services Division and how it affects our lives. Happiness is helping others to help themselves. Mary M. Gibson, Administrator. The eggs themselves take about 10 days to hatch and have a life span anywhere from 20 to 30 days. One tell-tale sign of head lice, the director cautions, is a persistant itch of the scalp, often accompanied by infected scratch marks or a rash. If you look closely behind the ears and the back of the head, you may see small silvery eggs at- tached to the hair. They will not shake off like dandruff.
