The Establishments which existed from 1817 to 1856 have been recreated and refurnished with the antiques of that century. They were built by Britain for the purpose of defending Upper Canada after the War of 1812. These historical sites are administered by the Ontario Ministry of Culture and Recreation. Board supports vandalism cost paid by parents The Simcoe County Board of Education en- dorsed a resolution from the Kent County Board of Education Wednesday night, calling for the Ontario Solicitor General's office to change provincial statutes so that parents would become legally responsible for acts of vandalism com- mitted by their children. The resolution states that since incidents of vandalism, especially to school property, have shown a marked in- creased in recent years, and since under present legislation parents are not responsible for the malicious acts of their children, statutes should be changed to make parents accountable for their children's actions. Trustees voted to send the endorsed resolution to the Ontario School Trustee's Association for its consideration.
