Two games were played on Tuesday night, the first between Lercar Con- struction and Olympia Sports and the second between the Penetang Expos and. the Brule Hotel team. Lerear Construction, last year's champion team, had little trouble handling Midland's Olympia Sports, and Lercar chalked up their first win with a _ con- vincing 9-1 score. The Brule Hotel team and the Penetang Expos played a tight game, with only one error- committed during the game. The Brule Hotel opened the scoring in the second inning, thanks to a double by Dave Stainton. Bob Morasse, Ken Davidson and Lenny Desjardins all singled to help produce four runs for the inning. The third inning also came up well for the Brule, with a single from Peter Dubeau and a home run from heavy hitter Dave Stainton. Stainton hit a ball deep into right field bringing in two runs. The Expos were scoreless until the bottom of the seventh inning when they exploded with six runs. Allan St. Amant, Wayne Dion and Loyd Leroux all singled, and several Expos batters were walked. The Brule also committed the games only error in the seventh. Larry Patenaude went all the way pitching for the Brule and he allowed three earned runs. Wayne Dion took over the pit- ching duties from Larry Marchand in the third inning for the Expos, and he pitched five shotout innings of relief.
