Wants volleyball courts at lake park At a Midland Parks Board meeting last Thursday a request was made by the Midland Volleyball Club to install volleyball courts at Little Lake Park. Rick Presse, president of the volleyball club told the board that the estimated cost would be $11,000. This cost, he said was largely due to the cost of the sand. The estimated cost will also include the price of excavating the area. Presse stated that the club already has com- mitments for sponsors, and that 'In this way we feel that we can quite easily raise 50 per cent of the cost of the project." Presse also told the board that in June the club will hold a fund raising event to help the cost of the new volleyball courts. "We're eager to have them, but it doesn't necessarily have to be done this year,"' said Presse. The board passed a resolution to stake out the land in the park and will lease it to the volleyball club. However it has not yet been decided how much of the cost will be subsidized by the Parks Board. This will depend on the availability of government grants. Ball hockey season The Penetang-Mid- land Ball Hockey League got its second season underway last night at the Penetang arena with two games scheduled. (Results next week). Mink Insurance Co. Premiums #4). Ve Robitaille Construction, Stewart's Gulf, and the Hustlers. Games are scheduled Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings at the Penetang arena.
