Sponsored by Penetang Oldtimers Media , Student Centre battle to a draw The UnCivil Servants, the team fielded by the Canada Employment Centre for Students in Midland, did much better in their second "year meeting with The Media. They didn't lose. But they didn't win either. Last year for the first time a baseball game was organized by the Canada Employment Centre people against members of the local news media to promote their Hire a Student program, and to have some fun. Monday night at Huron Park Public School in Midland The Media seemed destined to roll comfortably to another victory. The first inning was scoreless as both sides found their bearings. The Media went up three runs in the second, three more in the third, and a further three in the fourth, matched against three for the UnCivil Servants in their fourth. The Media's lead eroded to two runs in the sixth and the seventh. and one in the eight inning. The Media was unable to put any more runners across the place after the fourth inning. The UnCivil Servants single run in the ninth inning brought the two teams head-to-head at the end of nine, and extra innings were called. A two-run homer in the tenth by CKMP's Bob Templeton seemed for a time to be the winning run. However the UnCivil Servants produced two runs of their own. The result was another deadlock. The score at the end of the 10th inning, and the final score was 11-11. Another game _ is tentatively set for July iG will have his or her name placed in a large rubber boot.
