Christening provides chance to meet new addition by F. Craig On Sunday, June 15 Rev. Glenn Sim christened William Charles Wood, son of Connie and _ Larry Wood; Ian Bruce James Clark, son of Beth and Bruce Clark; and Andrew Brent, son of Dorothy and Gary Joice. About forty members of the Elismere family were entertained at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wood, Edgar, following the service. Craighurst Women's Institute enjoyed their annual dinner meeting, held at the Driftwood Restaurant this year. Plans were made to hold a social evening in the Community Hall for Art and Marion Dunn who have sold their farm and will be moving to a new home in Oro Station. Sharon Lalonde and Mark Lawson were recipients of many lovely and useful gifts at a community shower held in the Community Hall on June 12. Their wedding took place at Ellsmere Memorial Chapel, Horseshoe Valley, on June 21. Grade 8 graduates at W.R. Best school this year were Heidi Len- nox, who received the Girl's Proficiency Award, Murray Bell, Brian Lalonde, Peter Slater, and Philip Syme who received the Boy's Proficiency Award. Congratulations! Barb and Floyd Sinton treated their bus drivers and spouses to a trip to Kitchener-Waterloo area. This included a visit to the Farmer's Market and lunch at The Stone Crock, Elmira. About 50 guests enjoyed the outing. A number from this community attended the hilarious Donkey Baseball Game between Team Radio and Hillsdale Cuties at Hillsdale | Community Park on June 18. Mr. and Mrs. Max Craig and Tom attended the Barrie and District Association for the Mentally Retarded Barbecue at St. Vin- cent's Park on June 18. St. John's ACW held their June meeting at the home of Mrs. Bev. Cook. It was decided to send a donation for the support of Rev. and Mrs. Sam Obal, Uganda. The Parish of Craighurst, Midhurst and Minesing will be holding combined services for the summer months. Service will be held at 11 a.m. at St. John's on July 6 and 27 and on August 17. Harley Park of North Bay spent the second week of June visiting his grandmother, Mrs. Mary Kendrick. Mr. and Mrs. George Kirton visited relatives in Huntsville on June 7.
