Robert Lalonde and Douglas Rowley were interviewed recently. Robert Lalonde, a Penetanguishene re- sident, took business administration at Seneca College. He is administrative assis- tant to the clerk and deputy-clerk. He has helped organize events for the recent visit of the Governor-General, done research into files, insurance policies, and municipal transactions, and will become advisor for the Community Appreciation Program between the time that deputy-clerk David Farquhar leaves and his replacement arrives. Lalonde will attend Lakehead __ University this fall in pursuit of a degree in business administration. His experience this summer is influencing him to think of a future with a municipality as well as with a corporation. Douglas Rowley, a Midland resident, will enter Grade 13 at MSS this fall. He is a draft- sman in the town's planning department for the summer, working under the town's planner, Bryan McKell. A big job is the drawing of a base map to scale of Midland, for distribution to all the town's offices, showing the zoning. He also does a lot of odd jobs, and works on plans. He's learned quite a bit. "I didn't know all what went on in this building.' He has sat in on a planning meeting and a council meeting. After high school he plans to take planning and architectural courses at either Queen's University or the University of Waterloo.
