Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Sullivan, Friends and relatives gathered at their home on June 28th to help celebrate their anniversary. The marriage of Ralph Cote (formerly from Victoria Harbour) and Michelle Putz, of Penetanguishene, took place on June 21, at Bonars - Presbyterian Church in Port MeNicoll with Rev. Grain grading sorted out before harvest The 1980 wheat harvest is fast approaching and with it the usual number of complaints regarding methods of grading used by dealers. Simcoe County Federation of Agriculture has ascertained that there is no government agency in place to provide for compulsory grading training or the inspection of grading practices in the Province of Ontario. Simcoe County Federation is advising growers who have a dispute regarding the grade of a load of wheat to have a sample taken, put in a proper container and sealed, and pacts. of Grain Commissioners at Chatham, Ont. d to the Board The commissioner will grade the sample and return the information as quickly as possible. Vasey United Church Women met at the home of Mrs. Dorothy Rumney on Wednesday evening June 25 with 15 present. A pleasant feature before the devotions were slides shown by Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hanmore, on '"'Country Living and Wild Flowers."' Devotions, prepared by the program committee were entitled "Han- diworks of God". Scripture was read by Bernice Patterson, followed by prayer by Adeline Edwards and a meditation on "Nature's Wonders' read by Myrna Jones. Offering was dedicated by Eleanor Edwards. A number of visits were made during the month and_ several cards sent out. Further plans were made for the church auction on Aug. 2. The next meeting will be the end of August. Lunch was served by the hostess and two of the members. Congratulations to Mr: and Mrs. Frank Rumney who celebrated fifty-four years of marriage on June 30. Mrs. William Howe of Hamilton visited with the Rumney's for a few days last week, and last Thursday Mrs. William Clare Miller of Mount St. Louis and Mrs. Mary Barnet of Orillia ac- companied Mrs. Howe and Mr. and Mrs. Rumney to Rebecca Lake in Muskoka to visit with Mrs. W. J. Rum- ney. Visitors during the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Edwards were Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Hawke and family of Brampton and Mrs. Elmer Brown, Jeffrey and Steven of Dalston. Mrs. Dan Middleton attended the Stelter - Winkler wedding in Medicine Hat; Alberta on June 21. While there she visited with other relatives in the area for a few days.
