The event will be held at the Midland Golf and Country Club Aug. 9 and 10. The tournament, run by the 30,000 Islands committee and spon- sored by Graham Swales of Midland, will this year host over 40 golf clubs from all across Ontario. a maximum handicap of 20 to enter. Because of its well- known popularity the tournament, which had a closing entry date of July 23, was completely filled by July 9. Over 70 prizes donated by local merchants will be awarded Sunday after the two-day tournament comes to an end. Graham Swales will award a trophy from Garner Sports for the best gross of the weekend. Huronia_ Travel Service will also present a trophy for the best net while CP Air will award a flight for two for anyone' fortunate enough to get a hole in one. The participants will arrive Friday to start the weekend off with a practise round. Tee-off time _ is Saturday Aug. 9 at 7 a.m. and will finish Sunday afternoon.
