: sae didn't have to go far for accident: Two young girls received minor injuries in a car and truck collision that almost literally occurred on the doorstep of the Midland detachment of the OPP last Friday afternoon. Mary Cadeau, 7, and Kimberly Wright, 11, both of Hayes Street, Port MecNicoll,; were two of four passengers in a car driven by Donna Marie MacDonald, also of Hayes Street. MacDonald was northbound on Highway 27 just north of Hugel Street in Midland and Starting to turn left when her car was struck in the rear by a tran- sport cab pulling a flatbed trailer with a load of fibreglass boats. Both vehicles were in the passing lane. MacDonald's car was spun around in a circle and stopped pointing south in the southbound lane of Highway 27. The truck ended up in the ditch in front of the OPP office on the west side of the highway. MacDonald, 35, has been charged with operating an uninsured vehicle. The truck driver, Robert Andrews, 17, of RR 4, Niagara-on-the- Lake, has been charged with not having a Class A operator's licence. The truck is the property of Andrews Trucking Ltd. of Niagara-on-the-Lake. OPP reports Andrews applied his brakes when he saw the MacDonald car Start to turn but that he failed to stop. The p: truck's brakes do not appear to be fully functional, police say. Careless driving charge laid A careless driving charge has been laid against a Tiny Township man whose vehicle left Concession 16 of Tiny around 8 a.m. Monday and hit a tree. Winston Lemesurier, 20, of R.R. 3, Penetanguishene, the only occupant of the vehicle, was charged by Midland OPP. Lemesurier later received treatment at a hospital for minor in- juries. About $1,000 damage occurred to hi vehicte, OPP say Water problems highlighted Township of Tay's road's \committee is to look into 'complaints leveled last week by Bill Ardern when he ap- peared before a regular meeting of township council. Ardern showed council a drawing in- dicating drainage problems he has been facing along Georgian Lane in Midland Bay Woods from driveways across the road putting water onto the roadway and subsequently onto his property.
