Se om -_ -- | Obituary Margaret Elliott A former long-time resident of Port MeNicoll, Margaret Elizabeth Annie Jean Elliott, died in hospital in Guelph, July 15, 1980 after a lengthy illness. She was 70. Mrs. Elliott was educated in London, Ont. and Port MeNicoll, and was married in Port MeNicoll on Dec. 2, 1930 to William Elliott. She emigrated to Canada from Southampton, England at the age of six months with her _ parents, William "Scottie" Tunnock and Mabel (Martin) Tunnock. Elliott's Corners on the third concession of Tay Township was her home after her marriage until 1944, when she moved to Port MeNicoll. Mrs. Elliott spent the last 11 years in Guelph with her family, following the passing of her husband in January 1969. She was laid to rest in the Vasey Union Cemetery July 18. Rev. Charles Carter, a for- mer minister of Bonar Presbyterian Church in Port McNicoll, presided. Church membership included Bonar Presbyterian Church, Port MecNicoll, and St. Andrew's Presbyterian Chureh. While in Port MeNicoll she was a member of the Willing Workers Women's Group and the Women's Missionary Society. She taught Sunday school. She received a Life Membership in the Women's Missionary Society in Canada. While a member of St. Andrew's' she was President and a member of the King's Helpers Ladies Group, and a representative on The Daughters of St. Andrew's Executive. A son, Donald, as well as her husband predeceased her. Donald died Aug. 29, 1944. Surviving her are one son, William James (Jim) Elliott, RR 2, Orillia and four daughters: Jean (Mrs. John Gerow), RR 4, Peterborough; Vivian (Mrs. Len Parliament), Richmond, Helen (Mrs. Jack Hornett), Guelph; Kathleen (Kathy) of Guelph; and six grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, George (Joe), of Midland, and two sisters: Marjorie (Mrs. Robert Mitchell), Port MeNicoll, and Mabel (Mrs. Harry Jones), Fanny Bay, British Columbia. Pallbearers were nephews Brian Jones, RR 1, Midland; Ron Jones, RR 1, Midland; James Lefaive, RR 1, Perkinsfield; Vic Campbell, Wyevale; Doug Therault, Scar- borough; and a family friend, Henry Valcheff, of Burlington, formerly of Port MecNicoll.
