Called to the scene at 6:15 a.m. Sunday, Chief Light credits the department's new ladder truck' with knocking down flames that were seen shooting through the roof before they could spread to the other half of the duplex. The chief said it ap- peared the fire started in a main floor family room and went out through a patio and then worked its way up to the roof of the Ontario Housing home. It somehow managed to miss most of the second floor although smoke and _ water damage was quite heavy. An autopsy was to have been performed this week to determine the exact cause of the woman's death. Minor mishap on Main Saturday afternoon Penetanguishene police were called to the scene of a two-vehicle accident in front of 116 Main St. There cars driven by William Schnhan of Toronto and Paul Irvine of Welland had collided. A total of $500 was reported and there were no injuries or charges. Trust fund set up for Penetang pair Midland's Salvation Army and Penetanguishene Legion Auxiliary are teaming up to set up a trust for two teenage children who lost everything in last Sunday's fire in Penetanguishene in which a 37-year-old woman lost her life. Ladder truck wins praise Penetanguishene's new ladder truck, tested Sunday morning during a fierce duplex fire in which one woman lost her life, came in for praise by a number of people who watched firefighters quell the stubborn blaze. It was the second time, at a major fire, that the truck purchased in May was put to good use.
