Thursday, Sept. 11 -- The executive of the Simcoe North Progressive Conservative Association an- nounced today that they will be holding their "ist Annual Beef Barbeque." The barbeque will be taking place at the Orillia Fair Grounds on Sept. 11. Elmvale Angels to stage big tourney tomorrow The Elmvale Angels of the Barrie and District Intermediate Ladies Softball League will once again be playing host to the Labatt's three-day Invitational Ladies Softball Tournament. Held in Elmvale, the affair will be their third annual, and will begin tonight at 7 p.m. Twelve teams will compete for the $550 purse, along with many other Labatt's awards including base running and ball throwing. Tonight at 7 p.m. Orillia will meet Meaford, that game being followed at 8 p.m. by Barrie Glass and Mirror facing off against Ivy. Barrie Army and Navy will also be there, with their first game against Stayner. Saturday, Elmvale Angels will take on Toronto Gough's at 9 a.m., and Barrie Queen's Hotel will come up against Cooksville at 10 a.m. At 11 a.m. Barrie Stevenson McCluskey will face Toronto Quality Motors to round out the day's games. The finals including the consolation round and the championship will be played Sunday afternoon, beginning at 1 p.m. Four-way stop now in works Good news for the residents of Port MeNicoll was in the works, as announced at a regular meeting of the Port MeNicoll council, Tuesday. A four-way stop will be placed at the cor- ners of Fourth and Simcoe streets, which, according to council, will stop speeding on Fourth Street. Automobiles exceeding the speed limit on that road have long been a hazard to small children in the area. ) Obituary irs. Cecile Mailloux Mrs. Cecile Helen Mailloux, 62, died at Beechwood Private Hospital, Penetangu- ishene, on Aug. 28, 1980 following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Leo Mailloux and had lived in _ the ,Penetanguishene area all her life. The daughter of the 'former Mr. and Mrs. | Arthur Maurice, both 'living, the late Cecile Helen Mailloux sad 'been an active member 'for many years of the \Champlain Senior Citizen's Club. Surviving are her parents and daughters Rose Robillard and her as do brothers Marcel Maurice and Arthur Jr:; of Penetanguishene, Don Maurice of Penetanguishene and Ronnie Maurice of Toronto. Funeral services were conducted from St. Ann's Memorial Church, Penetangui- shene, on Saturday, Aug. 30, 1980 by Fr. Louis Dignard. Burial took place later at St. Ann's Cemetery. Pallbearers included: Danny and_ Vince Ladouceur, Terry and Gil Tessier, Charles Cloarec and Willard Grisdale.
