Night school at MSS offers something for everyone Registration for night classes will take place at Midland Secondary School next Monday and Wednesday, Sept. 22 and 24, between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Details of courses can be picked up at the school and library, the Y.M.C.A. and various stores in town Simcoe County Board of Education is offering a full slate of courses, academic, social, technical, hobby and recreational, through its "Continuing Education Evening Programe." New possibilities this year include a choice of three cooking courses (beginners, gourmet, natural foods), a cameo course for those who would like to try liquid embroidery, and a Christmas crafts course concentrating on sewing your own Christmas decorations. _ The growing interest in computers for home and business has led to an introductory course in computers being offered. Other new offerings this year include courses in parenting, rope-splicing, weaving, and two new approaches to mental and physical fitness through the "Trim and Tone"' or the Tai Chi course in the "gentlest of the martial arts". Some courses have new instructors. There is a new young teacher for the art courses on Mondays and Tuesdays, Mary Ellen Moore. Mrs. Ley, highly recommended by the former instructor, has taken over the Hooking Crafts course. The Conversational French classes will have new _ instructors this year, Bernadette Cowdrey and Anita Lamoureux, and in the sports department, Rick Presse will offer a course to certify vollevball coaches. The usual practical courses in auto, small engines, welding and woodshop will be of- fered, plus the possibility of a machine shop course with Mark Sullivan if enough sign up.
