ET eT Big Brother Week wii feature unique project In an effort to draw attention to the need for 25 Big Brothers in this community, the local organization will be holding a week of special activities and events. Between Sept. 27 and Oct. 4, "Big Brother Week", will begin witha bowling tournament for the men and boys who are already matched and will conclude the following Saturday with a "Big Brother for a Day" event to be held at the Historic Naval and Military Establishm- ents". At this time men will be invited to experience some of the enjoyment of the program with no obligation. It is hoped that many of them will decide to continue as a volunteer. The week will also be supplemented by an intensive media and Hopeful rezoning matter awareness - campaign outlining the goals and objectives of Big Brother's. The Big Brother is a male volunteer who spends 2 to 3 hours a week with a boy from a father absent home. The two spend their time doing whatever interests them. These can include hiking. fishing, bowling sports, camping or any number of activities. The boy turns to his Be Balke feel, Oe whenever he needs the help or guidance his mother cannot provide. The men and boys are matched based on their mutual interests and follow-up support for the volunteers. The organization also holds monthly group. ac- - tivities at which the Big ' and Little Brothers socialize with each other and share their experiences.
